[1] “Lentek CEO Joe Durek said the FTC approached the company more than a year ago with the allegations. In response, he said, the company sent four volumes of information, including tests by neutral parties, as proof their repellents are effective. “We never made the claim that our products are a substitute for chemical pesticides used for the prevention of West Nile,” Durek said. He said he was surprised by the FTC’s announcement. “I’ve already talked with our attorney,” Durek said. “We intend to fight this. Our good name and reputation are at stake.” THE ORLANDO SENTINEL. August 29, 2002 Thursday.
[2] “Changes could be on the way at Lentek International Inc., Orlando’s pest-control and mosquito-repellent maker. Joe Durek, longtime CEO at the company, recently left to pursue other options, leaving the business in the hands of his former partner Lou Lentine. Lentine, president of the 9-year-old company, described the split as amicable. Word on the street is that Lentine and another Florida entrepreneur are working on a deal. Expect an announcement early next month.” THE ORLANDO SENTINEL. November 25, 2002 Monday.
Could staff of Lentek reading this review pass the message to your President for the publication of the documentation regarding the “tests by neutral parties”. This would definite aid us further in decision-making.

I am living in a fairly small apartment (less than a thousand square feet) and the device works nicely. I set it at high frequency in the first place. But I could still see a few roaches crawling around after one week. Then I tried the low frequency setting, and then in a few days the number of roaches was greatly reduced. In around two-week time all the roaches vanished. Now my place is free of the annoying roaches. I am very pleased.

this pest controler {mice etc.} is the best I ever used. two friends were having troubles with mice, so I orderd three units for them one lady took two the other lady took the one. They both were astonished on how quickly the units acted on there problem [mice dissapered within 48 hours.] The lady who only orderd one unit is going to buy another one, to use in a storage shed.

always had little flying insects or bugs in the apt, probably saw on average one a day. tried this product on a whim and i might have seen maybe one bug a month. sister-in-law has it now so i ended up getting another one (newer model, PestControII) recently cuz i’m getting sick of the bugs again. we’ll see if it was just a fluke or if this thing works like the old model

I had high hopes for this expensive device. Unfortunately, it didn’t repel anything at all. Ants, spiders, centipedes, all were walking around this device in a small room. This was after continuous use of the device for at least 2 weeks (as recommended by the company) at the setting for small bugs.
I hate to do this but I am going to buy the regular bug traps now.
